Almost four years ago young gun Creeden Weir of Elders in Emerald, central Queensland, commenced his career as a livestock agent with Elders Rural. Initially Creeden worked for Elders in Townsville & Charters Towers, then at Mudgee in northern New South Wales and has been based at Emerald for the past 3.5 years.

Creeden grew up on a family run operation in the South West of Queensland in the Maronoa district. From leaving school Creeden travelled south into the ACT playing rugby union but after 12 mouths Creeden returned home to help family on the property in the drought. From there Creeden undertook contract mustering before applying to work with Elders.
Creeden says "I always had a passion for the work agents did and I knew it would be a beneficial part of life gaining a business knowledge from so many different enterprises in an industry I was already familiar with in terms of markets, exporters and abbatoirs before returning home to the property."

Creeden currently fulfils the role of a Stock Salesman and Auctioneer for Elders Rural in Emerald and also at Clermont at its weekly saleyard sales. Creeden is also a qualified AuctionsPlus Assessor. Creeden has clients in central Queensland and out to inner western Queensland in areas such as Jericho and Barcaldine and north up to Nebo.

"I enjoy helping graziers and business owners with decision making in respect of their cattle and marketing cattle to the best of my ability".

Creeden's favourite quote is "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got."

Creeden says "I believe Cattlesales.com.au is a very useful tool in terms of marketing cattle, accessing a large amount of people in a short amount of time. Myself and other agents at Elders Emerald use Cattlesales.com.au whenever we are marketing cattle on AuctionsPlus, large mobs of cattle in the paddock and special lines in the saleyards with great results".
